WORLD BOOK DAY 2024

7th March 2024
We all had a lovely time during World Book Day on Thursday, 7th March.

The children and staff all dressed up as a book character and everyone looked wonderful.  Thank you to all the parents and staff for making so much effort!

All the lessons that day were based around children's books and poems.

We had a live 'virtual' visit from author and illustrator, Helen Stephens, best known for her story 'How to Hide a Lion'.  Helen read one of her stories and showed the children how to produce one of her illustrations.

We had a number of parents volunteer to be a 'Mystery Reader' and the children loved going into the story tent to see who would be reading for them.

The children had a special World Book Day Lunch based on the book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea.  They had Sophie's favourite lunch of sausage, chips and beans and the dessert was a marble tiger cake.

Each child received a free book to take home.
