Children's Mental Health Week

5th February 2024
This year's theme for Children's Mental Health Week was "My Voice Matters".  Organisers, Place2Be, say that this is about empowering children to be able to express themselves.

We began the week with a special assembly discussing our worries and how talking about them can help us feel better.  we read the story Ruby's Worry and then created our Greasby Jar of Smiles, which the children have added to throughout the week.

Members of the Flourish team came into school and worked with each class focusing on developing resilience, overcoming challenges and recognising our own "super-powers".  The children have also enjoyed mindfulness sessions, cosmic yoga and meditation.

We continue to run weekly mental health and wellbeing sessions for children, who are supported to develop strategies to recognise and manage emotions and feelings.

Everyone had a wonderful week and enjoyed all the different activities as well as learning some new strategies to support their own mental health and wellbeing.
