Wellbeing Award 2022

The Wellbeing Award

What is the award?
This award has been developed in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau. They advocate the use of a ‘whole-school approach’ where all aspects of the school experience are harnessed to promote the emotional wellbeing and mental health of pupils and staff.

There are 8 objectives:

  •        Promoting and protecting positive wellbeing
  •        Having a clear vision of wellbeing in our school
  •        Promoting a positive culture
  •        Actively promoting staff wellbeing
  •        Prioritising professional learning
  •        Different types of Mental Health needs
  •        On-going participation of the whole school community.
  •        Partnership with other schools, agencies and specialist services.

Who will be involved?
Mrs Whelan is leading the well-being award with a team of staff members and governors.  There will also be opportunity for the parents and wider community to be involved.

Evaluations:
Both staff and parents will be asked to take part in the online survey . The children will also take part in some activities that will contribute to the results. From these results, our strengths will be highlighted, and an action plan will be created in order to make some improvements. If you do not wish for your child to take part in this evaluation, please let us know. The questions the children will be asked can be found on the document below.

How long does the award take to achieve?
The award will take around a year to complete. When we are ready to submit, a verifier will come in and look at our portfolio of evidence. They will be here for a full day and a team of staff members will be involved in presenting the portfolio of evidence to them.

Evaluations and Results

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our wellbeing surveys. We are pleased to tell you that since starting the award our scores have improved in all but one objective.

We would know like to know how you think we can improve further. Please feel free to contact Mrs Whelan via email or on Tapestry about the provision we have in place or any resources or agencies you know of that could help our staff, parents and children. We will continue to seek your views for the benefit of everyone.
