Chinese New Year Celebrations

2022 is the Year of the Tiger.

We held a special assembly to share all the exciting activities and work that we had done throughout the week.

Pre-School children showed everyone the tiger masks that they had made.

Foundation 2 children shared their work.  They wrote numbers in Chinese, made a dragon mask and painted tigers.  They then sang their Chinese New Year song.

Year 1 children told everyone about the Chinese traditions and lucky colours.  They made red and gold lanterns which bring good luck, they made lucky red envelopes and spiral tiger decorations.

The Year 2 children wrote their own versions of the Great Race Story, as well as making clay willow pattern plates and drawing tigers.

The assembly ended with the Foundation 2 children leading the whole school in the Chinese New Year song in Chinese!
